The company’s famous art collection is open to the general public through the corporate art app

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, May 4, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Progressive Art Collection, which contains more than 10,000 contemporary works of art, including sculptures, paintings, photographs and new media, promotes corporate culture by encouraging the pursuit of innovation and change.

Each year, thousands of employees, as well as their friends and families, participate in the collection through tours, seminars, artist talks, exhibitions and team activities. However, due to the COVID pandemic and the majority of the workforce away from the office, employees were unable to view the collection that the company’s corporate art department continues to maintain. .

Now, using Augmented Reality (AR) technology, a new iPhone app has been created allowing the public to scan a QR code, download the app, and view and learn about the curated selection of works of art and exhibits from the collection. Not only does the app allow for viewing, but users can place their favorite artwork on (virtually) any surface, including a home office or wall.

“We are thrilled to launch this Progressive Art Collection app,” said Corporate Art Curator. Scott Westover. “The pandemic has created uncertainty on many levels and this app allows Progressive employees to experience our office culture from home. Plus, their friends and family can now experience the collection with their iPhones and have the ‘opportunity to explore, engage and enjoy all the pieces in the collection.’

Available for download by searching the App Store for “Progressive Art Collection”, the app offers users the ability to browse a wide variety of curated works of art located in progressive buildings across the country, read reviews about current and past exhibitions, link to artist websites, save specific works of art as favorites and share them with your friends. The “Show in your room” feature uses the phone’s camera lens to place a piece of art where the user chooses, as it will appear in life-size 3D. Additionally, using AR technology, users can do what they have never been allowed to do on location or in a museum: virtually touch and move artwork anywhere in their home.

The development of the application was done entirely in-house with the collaboration of the creative teams and the company’s IT department on the project, and soon the application will be available for Android users.
